Commercial cleaning jobs in the Roanoke Valley.

Evening routes in offices and practices, and daytime post-construction projects. Clear checklists, training, and supplies provided.

The work

Two kinds of work.

Apply for one or both, and tell us on the form which suits your schedule.

Evening commercial cleaner

Part-time. [hours, e.g. which weekday evenings and roughly when shifts start and end]

What you'll do

  • Clean offices, medical practices and other workplaces after they close: restrooms, breakrooms, trash and floors, to a written checklist.
  • Restock paper towels, toilet paper and soap, and note anything running low.
  • Lock up properly every visit: doors, lights and the alarm.

What you need

  • Reliable transportation to get between sites.
  • Comfortable on a step ladder, and able to lift [lift limit].
  • Careful with keys, alarms and other people's workspaces.

Post-construction crew

Project-based daytime work. PPE provided. [confirm PPE provided, and typical days and hours]

What you'll do

  • Rough, final and touch-up cleans on new builds, tenant fit-outs and remodels.
  • Dust, debris, labels and protective film out; glass, cabinets, fixtures and floors cleaned for inspection.
  • Follow each site's rules: orientation, sign-in, and hard hat, eye protection, hi-vis and boots.

What you need

  • Reliable transportation to job sites across the valley.
  • Comfortable on a step ladder, and able to lift [lift limit].
  • Fine with dust, active job sites and working alongside the trades.

What we offer

A cleaning job that treats you like a professional.

We can teach cleaning. We can't teach caring about doing it well. If you're careful, reliable and take pride in finishing a job all the way, we'd like to hear from you.

  • Written checklists for every site, and training before you work on your own.
  • Supplies and equipment provided. You never buy your own.
  • Consistent routes, so you learn your buildings and the people in them.
  • No non-competes, ever.
  • [W-2 employment? only if true]
  • You can always stop work if something feels unsafe, and we'll back you up. We don't take on hazardous jobs like mold, biohazards or medical waste.
Pay
Each opening's pay range is in its job posting and in our first reply to you. [Attorney check: does Virginia's pay-transparency law treat this page as a job posting? If so, decide how the range appears here, since the site shows no wage figures]
We never ask about salary history.
Hours
Evening routes are part-time; construction work is by project. [typical hours for each role]
Employment
[confirm W-2 employment, and any benefits such as paid time off or drive time between sites]
Where
Workplaces and job sites across Roanoke, Salem, Vinton, Roanoke County, Botetourt County & Smith Mountain Lake.
Experience
Helpful, not required. We train on our checklists and methods.

How hiring works

Four steps, and no surprises.

  1. Apply

The form below takes about five minutes. A resume is optional. We read every application.

  2. A short call

A few minutes on the phone about the work, the schedule and the pay. Ask us anything.

  3. Meet on site

We meet at a building we clean or an active job site, so you see the actual work before you decide.

  4. Offer, then a check

If it's a fit, we make a conditional offer. Then, with your written permission: [Background checks: vendor and scope, or remove].

About the background check

We run a background check only after a conditional job offer, and only with your written permission. It's done through [background-check vendor], a consumer reporting agency. Before it starts, you'll get a separate, standalone disclosure form, as the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act requires.

You'll get a copy of the report and a chance to explain or correct anything before we make any decision based on it. Our application doesn't ask about criminal history, and you never need to tell us about sealed or expunged records.

Gentle Touch Cleaning is an equal opportunity employer.

We hire without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions (including lactation), age, military status, disability, ethnic or national origin, genetic information, or any other status protected by law.

Need an accommodation to apply? Call or text (540) 505-1295 and we'll take your application another way.

Apply

Apply to work with us.

A few questions, no resume required. We'll reply by text, phone or email, usually within a few business days.

What we never ask here: your Social Security number, date of birth, driver's license number, salary history or criminal history. If anything on this form is unclear, text us.

Which role?
We'll only contact you about your application.
Where you'd be coming from, so we can match you with nearby routes and sites.
Which days could you work? (optional, choose any)
For example, another job you work around, or times you can't work.
Cleaning experience

"None yet" is fine. We're happy to train.

Janitorial, housekeeping, hotels, restaurants, construction, healthcare: any work where care and reliability mattered.
Do you have reliable transportation? (optional)
Do you have a valid driver's license? (optional)

Yes or no is all we need. We never ask for a license number.

Are you legally authorized to work in the US? (optional)
PDF or Word. Not required.

Texting is how we usually set up calls and site visits. You can apply without checking the box below; we'll call or email instead.

We never ask about salary history. If we make an offer, we'll ask your permission before any background check, and you never need to disclose sealed or expunged records.

Questions

Before you apply.

Pay, hours, how the work goes day to day: text or call and you'll talk to the owner, not a recruiter.

Do I need cleaning experience?

No. We train every new hire on our written checklists and methods before you work on your own. Experience in janitorial, housekeeping, hospitality or construction helps, but reliability and care matter more.

Do I need my own supplies or equipment?

No. Cleaning products, microfiber, vacuums and equipment are provided, and so is the PPE a construction site requires. [confirm PPE provided]

Is it evenings only?

Most commercial routes are evenings, after offices and practices close, with some early mornings and weekends. Post-construction work happens during the day, on the builder's schedule. Tell us what you're available for on the form. [typical hours for each role]

Is there a non-compete?

No. You'll never sign a non-compete with us. Your skills are yours.
